Abdelkader Fréha Stadium ((アラビア語:ملعب عبد القادر فريحة)) is a multi-use stadium in Oran, Algeria, that is currently under construction. Once completed in 2016, it will be used mostly for football matches and will host the home matches of MC Oran, replacing their current stadium Stade Ahmed Zabana. The stadium will have a capacity of 40,000 people. ==History== On December 20, 2006, the stadium was planned for a capacity of 75,000 seats but was reduced to 40.000. On December 5, 2011, the minister of Youth and Sports, El Hachemi Djiar, announced that the stadium would be completed before the end of 2012.〔(Djiar à Oran: Le stade olympique livré avant fin 2012 ); Le Quotidien d'Oran, December 5, 2011〕 He also added that the entire project would be finished in 2015. In 2014, the Algerian authority decided that the stadium will take the name of the former legendary MC Oran footballer Abdelkader Fréha.〔(Le nouveau stade d’Oran sera baptisé Abdelkader Fréha ); El Watan, May 22, 2014.〕
